This week in Seminary Ricky and I have begun to study the Joseph Smith History and the Doctrine and Covenants. Church history is by far my most favorite subject. I really enjoyed going to a Singles Conference in Kirtland, Ohio last autumn. Unfortunately this year it is being held the same weekend that our Ward is planning a weekend in Nauvoo. So I have chosen to go to Nauvoo this time and hope to post some beautiful pictures. While in Kirtland last year we drove down to visit the John Johnson Farm where section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants was received (the Three Degrees of Glory vision) and stood in the room where Joseph and Sidney (Rigdon) beheld the vision of the Telestial, Terrestial, and Celestial Kingdoms and the outer darkness of the sons of perdition. That room was full of other men who saw the glory and heard the descriptions of the vision but did not see the vision. What I am trying to convey to Ricky is that others shared most of those beginning experiences of heavenly visitations with Joseph Smith. It does no good for anti-Mormons to attack just Joseph Smith . . they have to attack the other eye witnesses and that is where their lies and deceptions brake down. Anyway, I am grateful for my membership in the Church and for my testimony that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored on the earth today.

so enjoy Katy's Blog that I am trying to get back into this. With Facebook you have such a limited space to write anything worthwhile! I am slowly progressing in my ankle surgery recovery. I can walk with the use of a 3 prong cane to get from the bedroom to the bathroom. I hope by next week to get rid of all of my apparatus and just use the cane. It has been great to be independent again by being able to drive! I have a busy end of August and September coming up: On Sunday I have my first Mary Kay skin care class since my surgery. I hope to get at least two follow up bookings to get back into business! August 28th I drive with Jimm and Myra to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois to see my two nephews Jeff and Joe Sichta and their families. On August 30th I am still trying to see how to wrangle money to go see Casey James and the rest of the American Idol Tour at Riverbend in Cincinnati. September 2nd is my follow up doctor's appt in Cincinnati and I am taking the day off. That night Ricky and I drive to Illinois to stay at Pam's for the night. Then on to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to see Perrin and Angelina and then down to Nauvoo for a ward weekend in Nauvoo. The next weekend is cousin's campout in Buffalo, Indiana. So lots of action for me and I have to be mobile!!!Today is the first day of junior year high school for Ricky. He was really excited to go. He has another new girlfriend . . but actually she is an old friend who has had a boyfriend for a couple of years and wasn't willing to give Ricky a chance. The boyfriend broke up with her an Allison is finally free to look Ricky's way. She is a freshman at Greensburg High School so finally he has a girlfriend at school. Makes school a lot more interesting. The fact that she is a straight A student ever since Kindergarten makes me feel a lot better about this choice! Well I have a busy day at work so have to go!
